I trained as an English teacher with Birmingham City University, and the Teach First Leadership Development Programme. I taught English in senior schools for the following six years. I have experience teaching English Language and Literature to Key Stage Three and Four students (ages 11 to 16), including to the AQA GCSE specification.

After gaining a scholarship for my academic attainment at undergraduate level, I studied a Masters degree in English from Swansea University. I took a particular interest in Medieval Literature, contemporary women's literature, and fantasy fiction. My Masters thesis (available on request) was entitled THESIS NAME.

 

Studying English literature provided me with a deep appreciation of language and the magic of storytelling. It enhanced my critical analysis and interpretation skills, which are essential in the editing process.
